The Ed Hensley-trained and co-owned Tre Bien came flying off cover at the top of the stretch and paced away to score a two length victory in this week's edition of the $12,500 Open Pace at Fraser Downs

.

Firing from the outside Post 8 over a sloppy track, Killean Cut Kid (Brandon Campbell), one-half of the favoured entry, took control and reached the opening quarter in a flashy :26.3. As he neared the next marker in :55.3, his entry mate Trust The Artist (Scott Knight), last week's winner, came charging up from third to take over with Cardiff Hanover (Mike Hennessy) and Tre Bien (Hensley) hot on his heels.

Cardiff Hanover pushed ahead at the three-quarters mark 1:24.3 but faced immediate pressure from Tre Bien, who sprinted home in :29-seconds for the impressive 1:53.3 victory over a track rated two seconds slow. Cardiff Hanover finished second with At Last rallying for the show spot.

Tre Bien notched his second win in three starts this year and pushed his earnings to $15,625. The career winner of 34 races went over the $300,000 mark in lifetime earnings for Hensley and the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, B.C.

The eight-year-old son of Nobleland Sam-Tre Cress paid $6.30 to win.
