Dover Hat Trick For Divas Image

Winning is getting to be a habit for Divas Image, who captured her third consecutive $25,000 Mares Open pace at Dover Downs on Wednesday (Jan. 10).

Teamed with Tony Morgan, who recently earned his 16,000th driving win, the five-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight-Rocknroll Diva moved into the lead in mid-backstretch on the way to a 1:52.1 clocking for Jenn Bongiorno, who trains the winner for Our Horse Cents, Stable 45, and the J&T Silva Stables. The sharp Sweet Bobbie (Art Stafford, Jr.) finished second in front of Newborn Sassy (Tim Tetrick). Divas Image is now two-for-two in 2018 and a winner of $25,000 in purses this season.

In a $17,000 distaff pace, Art Stafford, Jr. piloted Bad Lightning to her second win of the meet, edging race favourite OK Jasmine (Tim Tetrick) and Shesarocker (Vic Kirby). A four-year-old by Badlands Hanover-Malocchio, Bad Lightning is owned by trainer Josh Parker in partnership with Nanticoke Rating.

Magicinthemoonlite and Ross Wolfenden won a 1:57.1 photo in a sub-featured $16,000 female pace. Moment To Ponder (Eddie Davis, Jr.) and Imadragonlady (Tetrick) were second and third respectively. Jeff Stafford conditions the Mr Apples-Damian Hoss four-year-old, who won for the sixth time in her career, for owners Linda Condon and Kevin Freeman,.

Tony Morgan and Corey Callahan had three winners each, while Art Stafford, Jr. had a double.

Missile J, Macon Georgia A, and Baileys Rock N are new to the $25,000 Open Handicap Pace, which heads a strong 13-race program on Thursday. Post time is 4:30 p.m. Eastern.
