2017 Pick 8 Handicapping Rules

1. The I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club’s Pick 8 Online Contests for the Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) will be conducted on the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Championships on Saturday, September 30, 2017 and the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Finals on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Mohawk Racetrack.

The contests will open a minimum of two days prior to each Championship and close at 6 p.m. (EST) on the contest day. No purchase is necessary.

There is no cost to register. Contest is open to individuals 18 years of age or older as of the date of registration who are Fan Club members, and has Internet access at time of registration. The contest is void in whole where prohibited by law.

2. The contest will close for entries at 6:00 p.m. (EST) on each contest day. (September 30 and October 14).

3. The winner will be the player with the highest bankroll based on a $2 win and $2 place mythical wager on the horses he/she selects for the OSS races.

a) In the event of a tie, the person who selects the most winners on the card will be used to determine the winner. (if there is still a tie, a random draw will be used)

b) In the event of a scratch, the person will receive the post-time favourite.

4. Only one entry will be accepted per individual and e-mail address. Multiple entries will result in immediate disqualification. Standardbred Canada reserves the right to disqualify any contestant which Standardbred Canada believes has submitted more than one entry. Submissions with incomplete, bogus or invalid names and/or e-mail addresses will not be accepted.

5. Standardbred Canada employees, directors and immediate family who reside at the same residence, (and their immediate families), Woodbine Entertainment Group employees, Ontario Racing employees, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario employees or any provincial racing commission employees (and their immediate family members) are not eligible for this contest.

6. No faxed, mailed, electronically mailed, or phoned-in entries are allowed.

7. Standardbred Canada assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, ineligible or mutilated entries. Standardbred Canada is not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable hardware or software or telephone transmission or technical failures, garbled or jumbled transmission or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Standardbred Canada and will not be returned.

8. Standardbred Canada reserves the sole right to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to this contest.

9. Anything not covered in these rules will be ruled on by the management of Standardbred Canada and their decision will be final and binding.

10. Contestants, by entering the contest, agree to be bound by the above rules and regulations.

11. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers for each Online Handicapping Contest. Prize monies are as follows:

Grassroots Championships – Sept. 30th
First = $800.00
Second = $400.00
Third = $200.00

Gold Super Finals – October 14th
First = $1,000.00
Second = $500.00
Third = $250.00
