We are unbelievably fortunate in Ontario right now. OSS purses, breeder's awards, overnight purses, and open stake races are the best in North America, and are adequate enough to keep harness racing alive as a sport and a business
First of all, I applaud the ORC for their efforts to improve harness racing. I have very limited knowledge of the details of the new plan but I think I understand most of what they are trying to do and I believe some of the changes would be positive but I do have concerns with two parts of it.
This part of our industry is in great shape. People love to buy yearlings and there seems to be an almost limitless amount of money out there to buy them.
